Most RV fresh water tanks have to be gravity or hand pump fed and cannot be filled using an electric pump. That is because they are designed as a low pressure application.

The water leaking is normal its your overflow which means that your fresh tank is now full. If you install a valve on the overflow then it needs to be open when filling and when using or else the tank could explode. It could also be that your check valve went bad. The water filter kit reduces chlorine, sediment, and bacterial all while improving the taste and odor of your fresh water supply. I went out to the warehouse and pulled the Camco RV Fresh-Water Hose, part # CAM22763, and used the digital calipers to take some measurements for you. The diameter of the hose fitting is 1". (See the image showing these dimensions I made elsewhere on the page.) I was able to insert the Camco RV Fresh-Water Hose Filter Washers, part # CAM20183, into the hose fitting with no problem, so yes, they are compatible.

The Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump part # LC689052 is our best replacement option for a Shurflow RV Fresh Water Pump 2088-422-174. The specs are very similar (2.9 GPM Vs. 3.0 GPM) so this will be an excellent choice. In regards to specs alone it would be a direct replacement but you will need to attach a few wires and possibly drill new holes for mounting but nothing too crazy or that you wouldn't have to do for any other pump.
